Import Fonts in PixelLab And DesignLab

PixelLab is a popular mobile graphic design app that allows users to incorporate custom fonts (TTF, OTF) into their designs. While PixelLab can import images, it doesn't directly support WOFF, EOT font formats, or SVG files as editable vector layers in the same way dedicated vector software does. SVGs can often be imported as images.

Open PixelLab and Import TTF/OTF Font Files

Once you've downloaded a TTF or OTF font file to your mobile device, follow these steps to use it in PixelLab:

  1. Open the PixelLab app on your mobile device.
  2. Add a new text element by tapping the '+' icon at the top and selecting "Text," or select an existing text layer.
  3. With the text layer selected, tap the 'A' icon (Text tools) in the bottom toolbar.
  4. Swipe through the text options until you find "Font" (it might also appear as "Ab Font"). Tap on it.
  5. In the Font selection window, navigate to the "My Fonts" tab.
  6. Look for an icon to add fonts. This is usually a 'T+' icon or a folder icon with a plus sign. Tap it.
  7. Your device's file manager will open. Navigate to the folder where you saved your downloaded TTF or OTF font file (e.g., the "Downloads" folder).
  8. Select the TTF or OTF font file. PixelLab will add it to your "My Fonts" list.
  9. You can now select this newly added font to apply it to your text.

PixelLab will automatically load the font, and it will be available for use in your current and future projects.

Edit the Design in PixelLab

Now that the font file is imported and applied:

  • Change text content, apply your newly imported font, adjust colors, sizes, and spacing.
  • Modify layers, add backgrounds, and other elements.
  • Add logos (as images), icons (as images or shapes), and other shapes provided by PixelLab.

PixelLab offers many editing features to customize your design.

Save or Export Your Edited Design

After editing, save your design:

  1. Tap the Save icon (usually a floppy disk symbol) at the top.
  2. Choose "Save as Project" to save an editable PixelLab file or "Save as Image" to export a flat image.
  3. If saving as an image, select your desired format (e.g., JPG, PNG) and quality, then tap "Save to Gallery."

Your design will be saved to your device's gallery.
